Artisan Basket Ensemble on Floral Ground - Circle of Scoop & Stripe – Enkito e Oltau (Step of Offering).
More than a display—this ensemble is a woven invocation of containment, rhythm, and ancestral breath.
Introducing the Enkito e Oltau Circle of Scoop & Stripe: a curated collection of woven vessels, featuring two scoop-shaped containers—one cradling a wrapped offering—and larger baskets with leather handles and bold red bands. Resting on a yellow-and-black floral textile, the scene transforms storage into ceremony and fiber into chant.
Artisan Connection:
Handwoven by cooperatives in Nyeri, Kenya, these baskets blend Kikuyu hosting geometry with Maasai ceremonial symbolism. The scoop forms evoke readiness and ritual gesture, while the red-striped vessels suggest movement, protection, and sacred cadence. Each piece is shaped with intention—offering containment, rhythm, and cultural continuity.
